A documentary papyrus from ancient Egypt that I edited and published with Jason Robert Combs. The papyrus contains remains of a contract between a wife and her husband, who inherited his wife's financial interest in a monastery on condition that he meet certain stipulations (set forth in the contract).

My dissertation shows how the ethics of the early Greek philosopher Democritus are coherent with his physics, arguing against a venerable tradition of scholarship that maintains the opposite.
